Environmental Challenges

By promoting and encouraging organic production, BPAE contributes to preserving the environment by maintaining the natural balance of the soil. To achieve this, BPAE relies on principles combining agro-ecology and permaculture techniques for the production of different crops. Respect for biodiversity is at the heart of our projects, with the absence of phytosanitary treatments and chemicals, BPAE promotes crop rotation, the replanting of various varieties of local trees, the permanent covering of the soil and the use of compost. BPAE maintains  continuous crops with local productions by providing its expertise in project management.

In order to reduce the impact on the ecosystem and preserve our natural resources, a consideration on the use of water resources is always addressed at the local level, favoring drip irrigation when necessary for targeted water use.

Nagoya Protocol

We apply all our expertise to assist our partners in obtaining the license referred by the Nagoya Protocol. Therefore, the cultivation and harvesting of plants contribute to the economic development of local communities.

Several projects are currently undergoing  ABS  procedure with the Vietnamese authorities.

Organic Certification

As a result of our experience in the field of organic certification, we supervise each project prior to the obtaining of  an Organic Agriculture Certificate.

Proof of our involvement, BPAE is certified organic operator by Ecocert as well as 6 other channels that BPAE supports that are currently engaged in the organic certification of their production (China, Canada, Vietnam, Haiti, Togo, and French Guiana) which concern around  fifty plants varieties that holds the Organic Production Certificate (EOS).

Fair Trade Certification "For Life" in Vietnam

Our local partner is involved in a certification programme for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Certified “For life” by Ecocert since February 2019, the Vietnamese sector stands out in order to guarantee a sustainable and responsible supply.

This certificate demonstrates the commitment of improving the well-being of the people involved in the projects,

it attests to:

  • Responsible practices throughout the supply and production chain in Vietnam
  • Respect for human rights and decent working conditions
  • Respect for the ecosystems, promotion of biodiversity and sustainable agricultural practices
  • Contribution to the local development

Actions of Communication :

We can establish, according to the requests of our partners the development of their sales arguments :

  • Photo shooting
  • Visits to the fields and the production areas
  • Meeting with the team
  • Welcoming of journalists and influencers

Diagnosis of the chain supply

At the request of our partners, we carry out botanical studies, analyses, active ingredients and cultivation tests in order to find the most suitable place of production among the countries where we have local partners. In addition we identify new possibilities in other areas for production.

Through field investigation missions, a search of the production area can be conducted with the prospecting selection of local partners to meet the demand. For this purpose, we carry out visits, surveys of producers and carry out tests and sampling on several fields in order to control the quality of the land for production.

Guaranteed traceability of raw materials

Products flow are entirely traceable from the production, collection, and delivering of the raw materials in France or Europe.

After packaging, the products are identified by a batch number according to the place and date of harvest.

A label is assigned to each bag indicating the Latin name, date of harvest, organic certification, part of the harvested plant and the lot number.

Controlled logistics

BPAE and its partners manage all logistics from the raw materials harvesting to the final delivery directly to our customer’s establishments. (DDP – Delivered Duty Paid)

All the procedure related to export to third countries and import into the EU from a phytosanitary point of view as well as customs control and compliance with the requirements of organic regulations (TRACES) is managed by the BPAE team.

For frozen raw materials, sea transport is carried out at -18°C and temperatures are secured by means of a thermotracer. For smaller volumes and requiring express delivery, we use air transport.

We can recondition the merchandise and trace the first stages of the raw material processing (grinding, cryo-grinding, and drying) carried out, by a subcontractor in France a service provided under our control that it is as well Organic Certified.
